Coffs Harbour Social Housing Project Wins Approval

The NSW Government has approved a State Significant Development application for a new affordable housing project at 211A-215 Harbour Drive, Coffs Harbour. The proposal, lodged by NSW Land and Housing Corporation (Homes NSW), will deliver a mid-rise residential flat building dedicated to social housing.

The approved development comprises a four to five-storey building with 60 affordable apartments, including a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom dwellings. The project includes a single basement level with 31 car parking spaces, 1,239 square metres of communal open space, and extensive landscaping across the 3,804 square metre site.

The project was assessed as State Significant Development and reviewed by a design review panel. The building height exceeds the existing 15.5 metre control, reaching 16.7 metres, and the scheme responds to multiple site constraints including bushfire, flooding, heritage, and traffic impacts.
