An amended State Significant Development application has been lodged for the Mamre Road Data Centre Campus at 706–752 Mamre Road, Kemps Creek, substantially reducing the scale of the proposal following public exhibition.

The revised scheme consolidates the campus from six data centre buildings to three, while reducing the maximum building height from 40 metres to 27 metres. Gross floor area has been cut from 227,584 square metres to 108,627 square metres across the 52-hectare site.

The three buildings would contain approximately 99,532 square metres of technical data hall floor space across 12 data hall shells, together with 11,620 square metres of ancillary office and corridor space. Despite the reduction in built form, peak power consumption remains unchanged at 1.2 GW.

Other changes include the replacement of the proposed cooling system with 840 air-cooled chillers, relocation of plant and high-voltage infrastructure to the southern part of the site, and removal of the proposed seven-metre perimeter wall in favour of increased landscaping and setbacks. The amended proposal includes 842 backup diesel generators, 15,842 kilolitres of diesel storage and 355 car parking spaces.

The amendment report lists an estimated development cost of approximately $8.1 billion excluding GST, down from about $9 billion in the exhibited scheme, and estimates 6,933 construction jobs and 800 operational jobs.

The amendments were prepared in response to submissions received during the March–April exhibition period as well as further design development. The project remains State Significant Development application SSD-92743706, with Plan Project Management Pty Ltd listed as the applicant.
