A $2.17 billion data centre development at 2 Glendenning Road, Glendenning, has been approved, clearing the way for one of the larger digital infrastructure projects proposed in Western Sydney.

The State Significant Development will deliver three five-storey data centre buildings across the 10.43-hectare industrial site, with a combined gross floor area of 50,233 sqm. The approved development has a power consumption of approximately 202.4 MW and a maximum building height of 43.2 metres.

The project will be delivered in three stages, with one data centre building constructed during each stage. The exhibited scheme included three internal substations and 97 backup diesel generators to provide standby power during mains outages.

Plans also provide 165 on-site car spaces, including six accessible spaces and 12 electric vehicle charging spaces, together with landscaping and new internal access roads. The facility will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The development replaces three existing warehouse buildings on the Glendenning Road site, which adjoins Nurragingy Reserve to the east and sits within an established industrial precinct near the M7 Motorway.

The project is expected to generate around 1,076 direct construction jobs and 106 ongoing operational jobs.

Lehr Consultants International (Australia) Pty Ltd is the proponent, with Willowtree Planning leading the planning application and Greenbox Architecture responsible for the architectural design.

The application attracted two public submissions during exhibition, including an objection from Blacktown City Council. Consent was granted by the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 14 September 2026.
