A major high-density housing proposal in Leppington Town Centre is now on public exhibition, with plans for nine buildings of up to 25 storeys at 156-166 Rickard Road.
The State Significant Development application, known as the Leppington Residential Precinct, would deliver 1,206 dwellings across a mixed-use residential precinct. The scheme includes 1,017 residential apartments, 189 affordable housing units and 112 serviced apartment rooms, supported by basement parking for 1,584 cars.
The proposed built form ranges from 6 to 25 storeys and includes residential flat buildings, a build-to-rent building, serviced apartments, public domain works, open space, internal roads and subdivision.
The application is tied to a concurrent rezoning request that would shift the site from B7 Business Park to MU1 Mixed Use and RE1 Public Recreation, increase the maximum building height control from 24 metres to 85 metres, and introduce a new FSR control of 4.85:1.
The project is expected to support around 1,500 construction jobs over 11 years and 40 operational jobs.
