145-Unit Seniors Housing Proposal for Ku-ring-gai on Exhibition

A seniors housing redevelopment valued at over $30 million in Ku-ring-gai has entered public exhibition, proposing 145 independent living units across nine new buildings at the Lourdes Retirement Village site.

The State Significant Development application seeks to demolish 172 existing aged dwellings and deliver new accommodation in buildings ranging from two to four storeys, with some localised height exceedance managed through design and site topography.

The proposal includes adaptive reuse of the heritage-listed Headfort House, refurbishment of the existing residential care facility, new community facilities, landscaping, and bushfire safety upgrades. Two basement levels are planned for car parking and associated services.

Public domain works are also proposed, including new roads, on-grade parking, extensive landscaping, and upgrades to physical infrastructure and utilities.
