$97m Hurstville Shop Top Housing Gets Approval

A $97.3 million HDA Housing project at 1A Hill Street and 105 Forest Road, Hurstville, has been approved as a State Significant Development. The mixed-use scheme will deliver 177 dwellings, including 20 affordable housing units, representing 11% of the total yield.

The proposal includes 14,853 sqm of gross floor area on a 2,634 sqm site. The development is described as shop top housing, combining residential and commercial uses in a single project.

The application responded to public submissions with design and functional amendments during assessment. A total of 20 submissions were received, with the majority raising objections.

The project is expected to generate 150 construction jobs and 5 ongoing operational roles. Principle Planning and Urban Design Solutions Pty Ltd is listed as the applicant.
