Rhodes Mixed-Use Project Approved for 342 Apartments

A State Significant Development application for 25–27 Leeds Street, Rhodes has been approved. The determination allows for a mixed-use project with six buildings, including additional levels to Buildings E and F and infill to Building B.

The approval covers 342 apartments, with 58 designated as affordable housing. The scheme provides for a shared basement with 400 car spaces and 636 bicycle spaces. The total gross floor area is set at 37,708 square metres.

Planning documents confirm the site was rezoned to a mixed-use precinct prior to this approval. Early works such as demolition, tree removal, and remediation have commenced, along with the construction of a new seawall and foreshore park.

A design competition was held, with the winning scheme assessed as achieving design excellence.
