A revised $65 million shop-top housing proposal in Wollongong is listed on exhibition, with plans to substantially increase the scale of an approved Crown Street tower development.
The State Significant Development application for 357-363 Crown Street proposes two towers of 33 and 38 storeys, with 467 apartments above ground-floor retail and basement parking.
The proposal would replace the previously approved scheme for two 19-storey towers and 252 apartments. The revised plans would add 215 apartments and lift the maximum tower height to 38 storeys.
The application retains a 15% affordable housing component, with 67 affordable dwellings recorded in the project data.
The Environmental Impact Statement notes the scheme has been reviewed twice by the State Design Review Panel, with design excellence considered through the process.
The project is expected to support 316 construction jobs and 31 operational jobs.
