A $480 million build-to-rent project in Macquarie Park has been approved, clearing the way for 736 rental dwellings across seven buildings at 85-97 Waterloo Road.
The State Significant Development consent allows six new build-to-rent buildings ranging from 10 to 20 storeys, plus a three-storey amenities building known as the Club House. The approved scheme includes ground-floor retail, residential recreation spaces, communal amenities, basement parking and public domain works.
The development includes 671 car spaces, 84 bicycle spaces, a through-site link between Waterloo Road and Banfield Road, and a 4,126 square metre public park. The continued operation of 2 Banfield Road is also permitted, with no physical works proposed on that part of the site.
The project was exhibited from 5 October to 6 November 2023 and attracted 33 submissions, including 32 objections and one comment.
The approval was issued on 25 June 2026.
