A major logistics and warehousing development has been approved for 1134 John Renshaw Drive, Black Hill, in the Cessnock City LGA. The Hunter Central Logistics Estate (HCLE) will deliver two large warehouses, enabling works, and subdivision into 11 lots on a 217.76-hectare site. The project was determined and approved as a State Significant Development, reflecting its scale and regional economic impact.

The approved development will provide nearly 99,000 sqm of gross floor area across two warehouses, supporting significant employment during both construction and operation. No residential dwellings or affordable housing are included in the scheme.

A Voluntary Planning Agreement forms part of the approval, requiring $9.51 million in Biodiversity Offset Credits to be retired. The project addresses a range of site constraints, including bushfire, flood, biodiversity, heritage, noise, contamination, and water management considerations.
