$100m Hawks Nest plan for 104 apartments on exhibition

Major plans for three new residential flat buildings in Hawks Nest have entered public exhibition, marking a significant step for the Mid-Coast region’s housing pipeline. The Sanderling Avenue project, led by Tattersall Lander Pty Ltd and EJE Architects, proposes 104 apartments across a 1.5-hectare site, with a strong focus on medium-density living.

The scheme features a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom units, alongside substantial communal open space. Notably, the plans also include upgrades to the neighbouring Golf Club carpark, aiming to improve local infrastructure and amenity. While the site faces several constraints—including bushfire risk, biodiversity, and traffic impacts—the proposal addresses these through design and planning measures.

Voluntary Planning Agreement contributions have already been paid to Council, reflecting a proactive approach to rezoning obligations. As a result, the project highlights ongoing efforts to balance growth with local needs in Hawks Nest.
